Description
This is a superb map of Mexico, Central America, Texas and Upper California. Texas is in its early Republic configuration, based in part on Burr's seminal 1833 map of Texas. San Felippe de Austin, San Antonio, La Trinity, Nacadoches, Ft. del Altar, Espada, Lagunilla, Matagordia, and Brazoria are shown in Texas. In California, the R. de los Martires and Missions are shown, and a river is running from San Luis Rey in North San Diego County to Southern Utah, more or less parallel to the Rio Colorado. Akropolis or Little Rock is identified, as are Taos, Santa Fe and Paseo del Norte on the Rio Grande. The Mexican states are color-coded. The large inset is of Guatemala or the United Provinces of Central America. From Greenleaf's Universal Atlas
