Description
Peru, Chancy culture ca. 800-1200 AD. A large, standing hollow molded terracotta female figure with hands raised and having small, relief breasts on body and visible genitalia. She bears a surprised, open mouthed expression, her face partially painted chocolate brown, as well as her ornate head bandoliers on her chest. Dimensions: 19" H. Provenance: Art Primitivo, 2007 acquired by Dr. Henry Cherrick, a professor and dean at UCLA School of dentistry who pioneered government programs promoting dental care in HIV/AIDs patients. He was an avid collector of fine art and antiquities and died at the age of 84 in 2023. Original document included.
