Mexico ca. 1000 BCE. A hollow pottery male head with two applied textured hair locks over expressive facial features with an open mouth. A few remaining traces of red surface pigment. Dimensions: 4-3/4" H. + custom mount.Provenance: NY Trade, 2008 acquired by Dr. Henry Cherrick, a professor and dean at UCLA School of dentistry who pioneered government programs promoting dental care in HIV/AIDs patients. He was an avid collector of fine art and antiquities and died at the age of 84 in 2023. Original documents included.
