Description
Ecuador ca. 500 AD. A super example of a standing figure with his arms out at his sides. His body has weathered painted surfaces, yellow and blue applied pigments for highlights, his head held high, chest exposed, loin-cloth, smooth, pleasing facial features, ears and nose ornaments, and bag wig with long lappets at either side, and long pendant necklace. Dimensions: 6 3/4" H. + custom mount. Provenance: Acquired from Howard Nowes Ancient Art, 1220 Broadway NYC by Dr. Henry Cherrick, a professor and dean at UCLA School of dentistry who pioneered government programs promoting dental care in HIV/AIDs patients. He was an avid collector of fine art and antiquities and died at the age of 84 in 2023. Original COA included.
