A remarkable oil on canvas titled "The Bedouin" showing a young man with a mandolin in an elaborate middle-eastern interior setting. Signed l/r & dated 1882, Paris. Image size: 18"x14" (Frame size 24.5"x21.5")
Provenance: Originally acquired by the consignor's father Oscar A Maggi, a career diplomat. Mr Maggi was a Consul General with posts in 7 countries starting in the 1950's. He was stationed in Marseille, France in the early 1970's which is where he acquired the Rudolf Ernst.
