United States Clock Co., New York, NY "Regulator B / No. 7" floor standing jeweler's regulator in walnut case with drumhead top and two finials, trunk door with reverse painted tablet and flanked by burl panels and turned ornaments, the base also with burl panels, 18in roman numeral silvered dial with subsidiary seconds below 12, 8 day, time only, weight driven movement
Condition
old finish with minor nicks and scrapes, no evidence of center finial as opposed to catalog line drawing contained in Tran Duy Ly,'s "Longcase Clocks", repair below trunk door on left return molding, professionally replaced base, replaced weight baffle, repainted tablet; refinished dial; replaced pendulum now with brass bob, was probably originally a mercury pendulum, circa 1870
