Other Notes: These small totemistic figures likely served as spiritual guardians. Usually smaller, wood sculptures were also part of a free-standing funerary processional tableaux and architectural models that were deposited in burials. These figures have particularly well-preserved woven garments. The fabric used by the Chimu was spun from cotton and the wool of camelids, such as alpaca, vicuOa and llama. This fabric was then often colored, using dyes created from plants such as walnut; minerals, such as clay; and insects such as cochineal.

Each overall good condition with scattered scuffs, scratches, nicks, shrinkage cracks, indentations, and separation at joints commensurate with age and use. Oxidization and darkening of the cloth garments for each. Condition reports are offered as a courtesy and are typically published in Moran's catalogue or can be made available upon request.
