Carl Kauba (Austrian, 1865-1922). An Austrian patinated bronze statue. A figural Western art work depicting a recumbent Native American Indian warrior brave, modeled on a landscape rock form, lying in ambush. Impressed signature to back of rock form KAUBA with impressed foundry stamp to bottom front GESCHUTZT 6254. The artist is ranked with contemporaries Frederic Remington and Charles Marion "Kid" Russell among the great portrayers of 19th Century American Western culture. Felt protector to underside.
Dimensions: 7 X 5 X 8.5 in.
Condition: Good overall condition having moderate age related surface wear, and evidence of patina. Estate fresh to the market.
