Hermann Göring – a pocket watch as a gift from Carin Göring, 1924Silver watch with hunter case from the workshop of Gustav Schulze, court watchmaker in Munich. High-quality movement mounted with rubies, with hour repeater. A finely engraved depiction of St. George on the front, St. Hubert on the back, each surrounded by an inscription in Latin. The dedication around the St. Hubert scene reads (tr.): "To my beloved Hermann, Waidmannsheil (Hunter's greeting) always, from his Carin, Innsbruck, 12 January 1924". Mark of fineness for silver. Diameter 60 mm.Also includes the silver chatelaine with attached engraved seal and a hinged locket with Carin's portrait and edelweiss, the engraved inscription on the outside reads (tr.) "To dear Hermann, greetings from the mountains – Carin". In an old double watch case with a hunting-themed pin in gold and silver gilt issue. Also comes with the heavy silver watch chain with green tourmalines and rubies. After the disastrous Beer Hall Putsch on 9 November 1923, the badly wounded Hermann Göring fled initially with his wife to Austria.Condition: II
