Presentation Photo of Abraham Lincoln from Harry Oppenheimer, President of DeBeers and South African Apartheid Reformer. Abraham Lincoln Photograph Print. Included Card Reads: "From a carte-de-visite photograph made by Alex Gardner in Washington, April 9th, 1865. The original is owned by Mr. Truman H. Bartlett of Baltimore, who stated he bought it from Gardner in 1874. Lincoln was said to be sharpening a pencil for 'Tad' as the portrait was made. The original negative was owned by M.P. Rice, of Washington, D.C., who copyrighted a print from it in 1891. A print was also copyrighted in 1894 by Watson Porter and one by Henry M. Williams in 1906. Compliments of Harry D. Oppenheimer." Portrait Approximately 12.375L x 9.625W in. Card Approximately 4.75L x 2.875W in.
