Incredible Geese Ausbie "Rookie" Game Worn Harlem Globetrotters Satin Warmup Suit!
This red, white, blue and gold satin combination was manufactured by Wilson and was believed to have been worn by Hubert "Geese" Ausbie during his first year with the Harlem Globetrotters. The pants measure 34" around the waist. The jacket (size 44) includes the official "Harlem Globetrotters" embroidered yellow-red-and-white logo patch on the left chest with an open hood connected to the collar. The hood sports 13 red and white stripes as well as 5 gold stars. Both pieces of the suit show ample use with some stains.
Hubert “Geese” Ausbie joined the Harlem Globetrotters basketball team in 1961 following a remarkable multi-sport college career at Philander Smith College in Little Rock. He famously declined interest from the NBA’s Cincinnati Royals and Los Angeles Lakers as well as various MLB teams to travel the world with the talented jokesters where his basketball skills and natural flair for visual humor coined him the nickname the “Clown Prince of Basketball” up until his retirement in 1985.
