Incredible Geese Ausbie 1960s-80s Harlem Globetrotter Uniforms and Warmups!
An iconic blue shooting shirt with the red number 35 on the front and "GEESE" displayed on the back (no tags). There are two colorful Reebok game jerseys, circa 1980s, belonging to "Showtime" Gaffney's with the number "32" on the back. Finally, a full Globetrotters warmup suit; the Speedline set includes tagging indicating an XL top and Large pants. The number "15" is written on the pants label in black marker, and the set shows nice use and the vivid colors which are part of the team's global fame. Fine condition and use.
Hubert “Geese” Ausbie joined the Harlem Globetrotters basketball team in 1961 following a remarkable multi-sport college career at Philander Smith College in Little Rock. He famously declined interest from the NBA’s Cincinnati Royals and Los Angeles Lakers as well as various MLB teams to travel the world with the talented jokesters where his basketball skills and natural flair for visual humor coined him the nickname the “Clown Prince of Basketball” up until his retirement in 1985.
Paul "Showtime" Gaffney was a standout college basketball player at Tennessee Wesleyan University who played for the Harlem Globetrotters for 15 years during the '70s and '80s.
