George Jones Majolica Turquoise-Ground Calla Lily Garden Seat
Recorded as shape no. 5220, circa 1875
Of tapering cylindrical form, naturalistically molded in high-relief with blossoming calla lilies and broad leaves, reserved on a basketweave ground, cinched at the neck by a rope, the circular top as brown rush pierced with an S-shaped hand hold, on a spreading rustic foot. Height 18 1/2 inches.

Foot restored, over painting flaking, some crazing and surface wear, including to the top seat area (old glaze losses), scattered nicks and small flake losses to the glaze to the main body; some chips to the side of the body, including to some of the leaves; some areas touched up with paint; etc.; examined under blacklight
