George Jones Majolica 'Indian' Turquoise-Ground Garden Seat
Recorded as shape no. 3380, circa 1875
Of barrel shape, the sides molded in relief with dragonflies in flight and birds perched among bulrushes and water-lilies, the pierced top and foot molded as faux woven rushes, impressed GJ monogram mark and cyphers IV and :., and registry diamond 9-U-E-3 for 9 May 1874. Height 18 inches.

overall good condition; there is a chip loss to a portion of one of the water lilies; there is a vertical hairline that originates at the bottom rim and extends upwards approx. 6 in.; there is a small amount of paint splatter located along the edge of the seat top that fluoresces under blacklight examination
