Pattern no. 1704M, date code for CQD
Of tapering cylindrical form, the hops vine handle with fruiting leafy terminal, edged in yellow, impressed uppercase mark, 12 and M, height 7 1/2 inches; Together with a Joseph Holdcroft Majolica Cobalt-Blue Ground Water Lily Pitcher; Circa 1890, of pear shape with branch handle, the spout with an ice guard, the side molded with flowering lily pads, unmarked, painted B, height 8 1/2 inches; Together with a Josiah Wedgwood & Sons Majolica Argenta Hops Jug; Date code for PQG for 1877, of tapering cylindrical form, the hops vine handle with leafy seed cone terminals, the rim edged in yellow, turquoise interior, impressed uppercase mark impressed registry diamond (15-S-M-5) for 15 June 1875, parcel 5, blue pattern no. M1659/1, height 7 3/4 inches; Together with a Griffen Smith & Hill Majolica Cobalt-Blue Briar Rose and Butterfly Jug. Circa 1880, recorded as model no. E3, pear shaped with butterfly spout and angular branch handle, the neck molded with a gadrooned band, the branch terminal issuing blossoming rose branches, on a textured cobalt-blue ground, the lower body as basket weave, unmarked, height 8 7/8 inches.
