Circa 1880
In various patterns, comprising an Etruscan Majolica pewter-mounted pink-ground Coral pattern molasses jug and a matching cream jug and two shakers, shape no.'s E30, E27 and L15, each molded with seaweed, coral and scattered shells, the tapering cylindrical jug with hinged pewter cover and pouring spout, the pepper and salt with pierced screw on covers, impressed GSH monogram and Etruscan Majolica medallion mark, shape no.'s, and various black printed numerals, height of taller shaker 4 1/4 inches, height of molasses jug 6 1/2 inches; height of cream jug 3 1/2 inches; an Etruscan Majolica 'Cauliflower' plate, the border with five overlapping veined green leaves edged in blue and pink, forming a central textured star pattern, impressed GSH monogram and Etruscan Majolica medallion mark and quartered cypher, diameter 9 1/2 inches; a group of Etruscan Majolica 'Bamboo and Fence' dessert wares, impressed GSH monogram and Etruscan Majolica medallion marks, each molded with branches of bamboo issuing from yellow and brown stave fences, bamboo handles and pink interiors, including a coffee-cup and saucer, recorded as shape no. 01, a milk-jug, shape no. E8, height 4 3/4 inches, and a dessert plate, recorded as shape no. D 15, diameter 7 7/8 inches; a gray and cream ground 'Briar Rose and Butterfly' jug, pear-shaped with angular branch handle, the side molded with flowering yellow rose spray between egg-and-dart and basketweave borders, the spout with a butterfly above gray and yellow trim, interior pink, impressed GSH monogram mark and shape no. E3, black printed 23, height 4 1/2 inches; a group of Etruscan Majolica 'Cauliflower' tea and dinner wares, naturalistically molded as a head of cauliflower with branch handle and overlapping leaves, the interior in pink, including two teacups and saucers, three lunch plates, diameter 8 inches, and three dinner plates, diameter 9 1/4 inches, impressed GSH monogram and Etruscan majolica medallion marks; a pewter-mounted Etruscan Majolica 'Paneled Bamboo' molasses jug, hexagonal with bracket bamboo handle, the paneled alternating blue and pink ground sides molded with clusters of tall grass, pewter mounted hinged cover and pouring spout, impressed GSH monogram and Etruscan medallion mark, shape no. E22, height 8 1/4 inches; a 'Celery' vase, naturalistically modeled as a gather of yellow flowers among tall stiff leaf tips, banded near the base, pink interior, impressed GSH monogram mark, recorded as shape no. L6, black printed 28, height 8 3/4 inches; pewter-mounted pink-ground 'Sunflower' molasses jug and circular 'Sunflower' dish. circa 1880, tapering cylindrical with bracket branch handle, the textured ground molded with two large pendant sunflowers, the hinged pewter cover and pouring spout, the dish molded as an open flowerhead, impressed GSH monogram mark, recorded as shape no. E23 to jug, the dish recorded as model no. D17, black painted 99, height of jug 8 1/2 inches, diameter of dish 5 inches; and a pewter-mounted cobalt-blue ground 'Sunflower' molasses jug and matching dish, circa 1880, tapering cylindrical with bracket branch handle, the textured ground molded with two large pendant sunflowers, the hinged pewter cover with pouring spout, the dish molded as an open flowerhead, impressed GSH monogram mark and shape no. E23, the dish recorded as model no. D17, black painted 75 and 41, respectively, height of jug 8 3/4 inches, diameter of dish 5 inches.
