Description
Antique Rolling Pin – Early One Piece Solid Oak Wood - Antique Baker Tool
Presenting a wonderful early large antique solid oak one piece oak wood bakers rolling pin, made in the 1800’s. Has a stunning antique warm reddish-brown patina.
In original as found condition. Purchased at a antique farmhouse estate auction in Western New York State along with other antique baking gadget utensils..
The entire rolling pin was originally hand-planed and then sanded at the rolling surface. Because it was hand carved, the rolling pin has an inconsistent surface especially on the handle where the hand planed marks still can still be lightly seen.
The rolling pin measures 17-1/4” inches long from handle to handle while the rolling surface is 11” inches long and 2” inches in diameter.
There are no age cracks, no hairlines, no repairs, general wear, unpolished, original warm patina, and is in very good condition for being used for over 100 years, no other visible damage, could use an overall cleaning. A 2” rub mark into the wood by handle as show in photos. One nick in handle’s button that have occurred over the years of making pies and rolling out pastry.
This early wood dough roller rolling pin is very functional while being an interesting decorative item that will displays beautifully in a country style kitchen. This pie crust dough roller has a primitive feel and look that is perfect for a farmhouse decor, shabby chic, or country cottage kitchen.
