Cora E. Cypser (1938-2016) was an American professor of classics and author. She earned her PhD in classics from the University of California, Berkeley, and went on to teach classics at several universities, including the University of Texas at Austin and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Cypser's research interests included Greek and Roman epic poetry, classical mythology, and the history of the book. She authored several books and articles on these topics, including "The Apocalypse in the Visual Arts" (1997), "Virgil's Eclogues: Landscapes of Experience" (2000), and "Wandering in the Wilderness: Changes and Challenges on the Mormon Frontier" (2008).

Cypser was also an accomplished bookbinder and book artist, and she founded the Cypser Bookbindery in 1987. She created numerous limited edition books and artist's books, many of which are held in private and institutional collections.

Cypser's contributions to the field of classics and bookbinding were recognized with several awards, including the Individual Excellence Award from the Ohio Arts Council and the Edith Diehl Award from the American Society of Journalists and Authors.
