South America, Argentina & Chile, Mapuche, ca. 19th to mid-20th century CE. A collection of silver, copper alloy, and brass ornaments and fittings. A pair of praying figural charms - the man is copper and the woman is brass, a tubular 95.3% silver straw, a 85.5% silver tupu pin, and a 77.3% silver floral bead or toggle. The kneeling figures have integral suspension loops and could be won as intended, and the straw may be the perforated half of a type of bambillo for mate. Size (straw): 4.25" L x 0.4" W (10.8 cm x 1 cm); silver quality: 77.3% to 95.3%; total weight: 19.2 grams
