A extraordinary Victorian English museum quality fine skillfully hand done raised silk work flowers in an oval original frame. Tag on back printed with name of restorer. Circa 1840s.
Featuring a lovely flower bouquet adorning a blue/white/gold vased, displaying abundant and exceptionally fine and varied stitchery along with a complicated, highly detailed design. Off white colored silk background.
Recently deaccessioned from the Rochester Historical Society in New York State.

Frame 11-1/4" width x 14-1/2" height.
Sight measurements of silk work 12-1/2” height x 9” width.

CONDITION
In very good antique condition. Not original glass and frame. Paper backing are not original. Few very small rubs on frame edge with tiny gold gilt missing. No damage to embroidery with colors of silk floss still vibrant, some staining on background silk as seen in photos. The photography of these photos was a challenge through glass. There may be distortion from reflection.
For the collector. A wonderous addition to ones textile collection.
