SIZE: Unframed: Sheet = 13 7/8" x 10 7/8"
MEDIUM: Gelatin Silver Print
DESCRIPTION: Up for auction is a rare gelatin silver print by German-born photographer Hugo Brehme title Locomativa con Revolucionarios en el Estado de Morelos. The image is signed by Brehme in the negative on the lower right recto. There is also a Bazar de Fotografia Casasola stamp verso. The bazar was started by photographer Agustin Victor Casasola as a way to collect and preserve photographs from the Mexican Revolution. This particular stamp is a very early address for the organization but it remains difficult to date specifically when this print was created as it is a later print from the original Brehme negative.
CONDITION: The unframed print is in good condition with creasing at three corners and along the upper paper edge, see photos. The browns and blacks within the image remain dark and subtle, see photos.
