Nuova edizione di questa importante opera, basata su l’edizione di Leida del 1732, la più ampia curata dall'autore. Ferguson: “One of his most important works is the treatise on chemistry, which was based on notes of his lectures, but was afterwards revised by himself.” Il primo volume è una sorta di storia della chimica; il secondo descrive in dettaglio gli esperimenti compiuti, oltre 200; la terza parte contiene gli Opuscula omnia, ove sono raccolti orazioni e scritti sparsi di argomento medico e anatomico: sono inoltre pubblicate le lettere inviate a F. Ruysch nel 1721 con le risposte di quest’ultimo.
