A tall carved wooden post featuring a stylized anthropomorphic form, incised and raised designs and obvious age and weathering. This post was carved from incredibly dense and heavy mahogany wood, it must have taken generations for the wood to decay as it has. The Bongo peoples of western South Sudan erect large wooden sculptures as commemorative monuments of important members of the community.
