Description
South Asia, India, ca. 19th century CE. A large wooden cartwheel engraved with overlapping circular motifs and a square axle hub, the surface carved with polished from the many miles it has traveled, likely pulled along by oxen. The outer rim and axel hole are reinforced with thick iron bands - both iron and wood have a rich patina from bumping along the dusty the unpaved roads. Perfect as a rustic standalone piece of art or for mounting as a unique table with a protective glass top! Size: 26" Diameter x 5" W (66 cm x 12.7 cm)

Iron outer rim is slightly loose from wood. Stable fissures, chips, abrasions, and losses as expected with use and age. Heavy patina to both wood and iron.
