Description
Attributed to Guilford, Connecticut, early 18th century, oak and poplar. Lid with routed edge and dowel pin hinges, case with corner posts, front with four panels imitating drawers missing knobs, ends with square raised panels and possibly original warm reddish brown graining. Wear, repair, loss and insect damage. 22.5"h. 44.5"w. 20.5"d.

UPDATE
Among other repairs, hinges have dowel rod replacements and hinge on right facing side has several pieced repairs. Front right foot has small pieced repair at bottom. Additional repairs include nailed repairs at other hinge, two replaced center stile boards with pieced repair at bottom center molding. Repaired break across front ¼ of lid. Small piece of missing molding right front and bottom. Bottom of chest is bowing a bit in center.
