An Edward Farmer white jade deer belt buckle. Jade dating from the Ming dynasty (1368-1644). A finely carved deer in relief, previously a belt buckle, set into a small gilt metal Chinese style platform with four splayed feet by Edward Farmer. Stamped on metal rim: "Edward I. Farmer New York".

Condition: in good condition ,the jade has some natural inclusion , the metal base has some wear off to the gilding
