Description

Fan shaped steam yacht Corsair oyster platter, 10". The Mintor's china has the J. Pierpont Morgan signature navy blue trim with gold accents. Reverse has Mintons stamp. This offering of rare China was used aboard J. Pierpont Morgan's private steam yacht, Corsair II. This historic craft served as the "flagship" of the prestigious New York Yacht Club. The Flags on the plate are JP Morgans Private signal flag of crescent moon and star along with the NYYC Burgee. A rare relic of yachting history. The bottom is stamped Daniell, Wigmore street London an A4723 (The Morgan "Corsair" Pattern Number). Dimension: 11"W x 8"D.
