Lamp 2: Hitchcock mechanical lamp with nickel plated finish, wind-up mechanism on underside of base. Lamp 1: Stamped on drip cup below the font, "May 29 1866". "PATENTED NOV. 10th 1883" stamped on a brass plaque soldered to a metal band that supports the font. Lamp 2: Burner ring marked, "HITCHCOCK LAMP" "WATERTOWN, NEW YORK, PAT’D FEB.25.1865, APL. 23. 1872, DEC.2.1873, JAN.7.1873, AUG.12.1873, DEC.22.1874". Thumbwheel marked, “Hitchcock, Watertown, N.Y.". Lamp 2: Stamped on drip cup below the font, "May 29 1866".
