This lot is from the Lin Sen collection.
Lin Sen (1868-1943), sobriquet Chang-jen, courtesy name Tze-chao, was born in Minhou County, Province of Fukien.
He served as the Chairman of the National Government of the Republic of China in 1932 and spurned all offers to defect the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, and passed away on August 1 at the age of 76.
Lin Sen was always fond of collecting antiques, and his residence was decorated with various antiques.
In 1943 Lin Sen had four wills on his deathbed, one of which said: "After the death, please sell my properties in Lushan, Beiping, South Hot Springs and Nanjing, as well as my savings, clothes, paintings and antiques, as a fund for the establishment of Shanggan Vocational School. The Kuomintang Lin Sen Funeral Committee to Lin Sen then presented the collection of thousands of antiques for public auctions.
