Army General Maxwell D. Taylor Signed Envelope Cover. General Taylor signed the cover when he was the US Ambassador to South Vietnam in 1964. The cover was sent from Saigon, South Vietnam. Maxwell D. Taylor (August 26, 1901 – April 19, 1987) was a senior US Army Officer and diplomat of the mid-20th century. He served with distinction in WWII most notably as commander of the 101st Airborne Division, nicknamed "The Screaming Eagles." After the war, he served as the fifth chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, having been appointed by President Kennedy. Approximate size is 3.75 x 6.5 inches. Nice condition on the front with tape on the reverse.
