Buguzhai is a nickname for the famous Japanese collector Matsuhiro Hirota (1897-1973). He was born in Toyama, Japan. At the age of 12, he entered the antiques industry. He was originally one of the founders of Huhongju, a famous antique shop in Tokyo, Japan. Mr. Fuguzhai, the founder of Huzhongju, often went to China to collect collections from 1924 to 1944. At the same time, he also invited many Chinese artists to hold exhibitions in Japan. His collection focused on Chinese ceramics calligraphy and painting. Because of variety of collection and his careful selection, his collection has been very famous for a long time. His collection was based on his broad vision and excellent textology ability instead of personal preferences, finally formed a very excellent and well-known collection.

After step into the antique industry at the age of 12, Buguzhai Hirota Matshda has really taken the road of collection for more than 60 years. Matsushihiro Hirota is an excellent antique art collector. It is not too much to collect unprecedented and unique collections in the world with a broad vision. From the Han dynasty to the Qing dynasty, his collection of Chinese ceramics is diverse and very rich.
