Description
West Africa, Mali, Dogon or Mossi people, ca. 19th century CE. A lovely hand carved stone bracelet with a minimalist carinated profile. The bangle is made from a mottled brown and black stone, possibly granite, that was polished to show off the natural graining. Size: 4" Diameter x 1" W (10.2 cm x 2.5 cm); (opening): 2.5" Diameter (6.4 cm)
Provenance: ex-private Bishop Family Trust collection, the Trust of the late Bill Bishop, a noted antiquarian with shops in Scottsdale, Arizona and Allenspark, Colorado, USA, acquired before 2010
