Chinese Yuan Dynasty Blue and White Dragon Porcelain Jar. Potted with a large vessel, thick and tall, slight ovoid belly, emerging archaic dragon flanked on heavy shoulder gently tapered on short neck, toward opening flaring mouth prominent, and raised on round foot base. Hand painted ornamentations are rendered in clean white base color which contrast against blue color, depicted of imperial five claws dragon flying careening through cumulus clouds above thrashing Li-shui waves. Blue and white porcelain in Chinese it is called Qing Hua Ci. It is the most important variety of Chinas porcelain. It was originated in the Yuan Dynasty. The underside unglazed, revealed the pale-creme ground revealed and dark grayish brown spotted firing marks and edge-cut foot rim.
