Chinese Ge Ware Porcelain Brush Pot. Potted in cylindrical, round and straight body, close mouth lip, raised with round flat foot base. Ge Kiln is deliberate crackle, or a network of cracks in the glaze, distinctive GE crackled glaze also known as jinsi tiexian which translates to mean gold floss and iron thread which details the look of several lines that appear in the crackled surface in greyish or brown underglazed base color. Ge ware is a type of celadon or greenware in Chinese pottery. It was one of the Five Great Kilns of the Song Dynasty.The underside unglazed, revealed the pale-creme ground revealed and dark greyish brown spotted firing marks and edge-cut foot rim. The Central Underside bears an artist mark, four script in underglazed blue.
