Description

Watercolor on paper by Milo Winter. Unsigned & unframed. Dimensions: 10 1/2" x 14 1/2". Milo Kendall Winter, Jr. (1913-2002), was a graduate of the Art Institute of Chicago (1937), then studied at the Cranbrook Academy of Art in Bloomfield Hills, MI. Winter joined the faculty at RISD (1939-1950). A member of the Providence Art Club & the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, Winter exhibited widely including at the Art Institute of Chicago & PAFA. Winter was a colorist who often placed hot and cool colors juxtaposed in landscapes and still life. His painting style ranged from modern realism to expressionism.
