Description
Ca. 1200-700 BC. A bronze spearhead in a elongated and narrow form, with a thick midrib and a sharp point at the top. Weaponry production in the Western Asiatic world during this period was quite advanced. Bronze was smelted and cast in furnaces, and craftsmen were able to create intricate designs and patterns on their weapons. In addition to the bronze spearheads, other weapons were also produced such as daggers, swords, and battle axes. The bronze weapon-making industry was a lucrative one in the ancient Near East. Cf.
