Two Contract Bayonets; Miles and Rose,
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, c. 1798-1808.
The Miles bayonet with 15 1/2 in. triangular blade with deep fullers on the bottom, the top marked 'MILES,' 2 13/16 in. with open slot, overall lg. 19 1/8 in.

The Rose bayonet with 14 1/2 in. triangular blade with deep fullers on the bottom, the top marked 'ROSE,' 2 11/16 in. socket with open slot marked 'V' at the top of the slot, overall lg. 18 1/8 in.

Condition

The Miles bayonet has an oxidized surface with light pitting. The Rose bayonet has a dark brown toned surface.
