Description
Chinese Famille Rose Vase, probably 19th century in date, was created for the export market. Painted in overglaze enamels, the main motif is of conversations in upper class homes; family members converse with friends through open windows. The narrative panels alternate with decorative panels of birds on peony branches. The handles in shape of foo dogs are painted gold.
