Technique: Lithography with pen over tinted stone on Paper
Inscription: At the lower part signed in the printing plate: "Raphael pinx. | Sposalizio della Madonna | Hanfstängl del.".
Date: 19th century
Description: The depiction follows Raphael's painting of 1504 (oil on wood), now kept in the Pinacoteca di Brera in Milan, and shows the scene of Mary's marriage to Joseph, who is about to put the ring on her. In the centre is the priest, on the left Mary and behind her the virgins, on the right Joseph, behind him the rejected suitors.

Condition
Rather good condition. Foxing and light soiling are visible throughout the sheet. Along the right edge of the sheet the paper is creased and there is a short marginal tear. The corners of the sheet are damaged by bump marks. The image makes a good impression.
