Manton de manila reversible embroidered silk shawl cape, folded & skillfully manipulated to create tiered cape with gathered & stuffed collar, flowing double graduated knotted fringe. A wearable work of art and a lovely heavy silk shawl with tight hand embroidery white silk floss on a cream white silk ground with hand knotted macrame fringe on four sides. Skillfully done embroidery consists of flowers and meandering vines.

APPROXIMATE MEASUREMENTS
Measures 65” x 39" without fringe. With an additional 13" fringe on three sides. Back of collar stands 5”.

CONDITION
Very good condition. No repairs. Messy fringe yet not tangled, light wear and pulls to embroidery. Tiny 0.25” spot stains. There is no apparent damage to the embroidery or the body of the shawl aside from very slight anomalies, very few and very minor "loosening" consistent with age and rare use and decades of storage. The piece is well preserved and worthy of collecting , displaying or wearing.

Our antique textiles are collectible and are not new and not reproductions, and have lived a long and eventful life and sometimes developing flaws. We do not launder or dry clean unless stated in listing, and most times have been in storage for many decades picking up old age storage oxidation spots.
