An impressive folding knife known as a gentleman's hunting knife presenting a steel blade and an antler handle, both skillfully etched with detailed images and made by I. Putley of 114 Borough, London, established in 1797. The flattened handle features carefully carved images of London landmarks with Windsor Castle near the blade and the New Houses of Parliament by the butt, separated by the I. Putley company emblem. Alternatively, the gently curved blade is incised with depictions of hunting men on horseback, as well as other animals, figures, and inscriptions. A fascinating and rare piece!
