Description
Worn by William I. Buchanan, who was Director General of 1901 Pan American Exposition. Lot includes inked manuscript card stating that these were worn by him at the Expo. Pair of dress U.S. Army Captains epaulettes marked Shannon, Miller & Crane, New York with Artillery button, 7" long; and circa 1890s U.S. Army kepi with shield breasted eagle buttons, unmarked. Buchanan served Wm McKinley & Teddy Roosevelt as chief trouble shooting diplomat for South America. Condition epaulettes VG+ Kepi VG.
