Description
An antique Japanese Meiji Era tripod and covered enamel metal censer koro. Circa: late 19th century to early 20th century. The sphere form censer koro is enameled with floral and foliage patterns, and medallions with images of butterflies and a dragon and a Phoenix bird made in the Cloisonne technique on a black ground. The ground is inlaid with a Gold stone. Mounted on three metal legs. The cover is adorned with a sphere shaped hand carved finial covered with polychrome enamel floral and circles patterns made in the Cloisonne technique. The censer is adorned with a technique of using metal powders to give a glitter effect to the enamel. Unmarked.
