Description
A pair of large Japanese porcelain vases of bottle shape, faceted round body with long neck. Late Meiji period, before 1912. The hand-painted bodies depict floral and geometric ornaments with gilt accents. There are traces of a hieroglyphical hallmark on the bottom of one of the items. Satsuma ware is a type of Japanese pottery which originated in Satsuma Province, since the 19th century it was mainly produced for Western export and therefore elaborately decorated. Collectible Oriental Japanese Porcelain Decor.
