3 Newspapers Re: Lincoln at Gettysburg & Details of the Assassination 

A collection of three Lincoln-related newspapers, covering his speech at Gettysburg and his later assassination. Comprised of issues of "Harper's Weekly", "The Illustrated London News", and "Schenectady Republican", the first two have beautiful illustrations throughout. The group has varying degrees of creasing, toning, soiling, and foxing. Overall very good. Please refer to the photographs for further condition information.

Includes:
1. "Harper's Weekly", New York, dated December 5, 1863. Volume VII, No. 362. 16pp with illustrated images of the war, a printed copy of "The President's Hymn", and a detailed report of President Lincoln at Gettysburg.
2. "The Illustrated London News", London, dated May 20, 1865. Volume XLVI, No. 1316. 22pp, mainly dedicated to the opening of The Dublin International Exhibition, but with two pages dedicated to Lincoln's funeral (with 2 large illustrations). Also covers Richmond after the departure of the Confederates, with images of Davis's house, Richmond burning, and Fort Powhattan.
3. "Schenectady Republican", Schenectady, New York, dated April 22, 1865. Volume VIII, No. 18. 8pp with lengthy reporting on Lincoln's assassination and the conspirators. With much more information included than in earlier newspapers.
