DESCRIPTION: Up for auction is a drypoint etching by renowned artist Louise Bourgeois. This drypoint etching features black lines creating a rounded, organic, vertical shape. This untitled print comes from the Bourgeois series titled Anatomy, which consisted of 11 drypoints and etchings. This print is a printer's proof and is pencil signed and numbered by Bourgeois outside of the plate mark on the lower recto corner of the paper: P.P. 2 and LB, see photos. This is a printer's proof 2 from a numbered edition of 54.
PROVENANCE: This piece was purchased in 1996 from the Greg Kucera Gallery in Seattle. The sale of this item will include a copy of the original gallery receipt.
