Description
A sad relic of the failed U.S. mission in Vietnam, a 6 in. section of barbed wire taken from the outer wall of the U.S. Embassy in Saigon, from just beneath the infamous helicopter pad seen in the iconic photograph of the last Americans leaving the country in April, 1975. The wire is accompanied by a signed 1998 letter of provenance from veteran Darrell Parchuk who visited the embassy on Jan. 25, 1998, as it was being demolished, and where he was assisted by a local in obtaining a section of the wire. Very good.
