The lower part, with a larger diameter, is carved with female figures standing and crouching, superimposed and separated by floral frames. The figures are united by the bursting breasts, their nudity and showy jewelry. Crouching figures are also common in rattles of this period. This type of work was found in the city of Chandraketugarh, West Bengal, bearing witness to a flourishing civilization of the Shunga and Kushan periods with offshoots up to the Gupta period.
