Near Fine. 1st Edition. 1879 1ed Confederate General Taylor Civil War Reconstruction Stonewall Jackson Richard Taylor s Destruction and Reconstruction is an account of his personal experience as a lieutenant general in the Confederate army. Taylor s memoir was one of the most credible memoirs written by a Civil War veteran including information on the causes of the war and secession, Battle of Manassas, Peninsular Campaign, Shenandoah Valley campaign, Louisiana, Mississippi, Vicksburg, Stonewall Jackson, General Sherman in Georgia, reconstruction under Johnson and Grant, and much more! Nevins - “A constantly quoted commentary by a distinguished Confederate general and son of Zachary Taylor. Particularly good for the author's observations on 'Stonewall' Jackson.” D. Appleton and Co., New York. 1879. 274 pp. Lightly toned. Brown cloth covers with gilt lettering. Covers lightly scuffed and corners with light wear. Measures 9 in. x 6.25 in. x 1 in. If lot is absent of a condition report one may be requested via email. Condition report is provided as an opinion only and is no guarantee as grading can be subjective. Buyer must view photographs or scans to assist in determining condition and ask further questions if so desired.
