Pre-Columbian, Southern Mexico, Guerrero region, Mezcala culture, ca. 600 to 100 BCE. A hand-carved greenstone figure of characteristically abstract form with an enlarged head and string-cut bodily features. Minimalist stone figures like this are some of the earliest examples of figural artistry in ancient Mesoamerica. Size: 2.1" W x 4.6" H (5.3 cm x 11.7 cm)

Losses to feet and top of head as shown. Abrasions and thick earthen deposits across most surfaces, otherwise in very good condition. Nice preservation to figural form.
